Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's soccer team tied the Bears of Bridgewater State University 2-2 on Saturday evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action on Alumni Field.

How It Happened
In the first half, the red and white seized control on the offensive end, potting the first goal of the game when junior Filipe Gomes (Fogo, Cape Verde) slipped past the Falcons defense for his fourth score of the season in the 37th minute.
The Bears doubled the lead, just a minute after intermission. Freshman Kevin Roberts (Medway, Mass.) tucked his third goal of the season in the top right corner after Kane Moran (Perth, Australia) found him streaking down the left wing.
The Falcons' cut the lead in half with an own goal at 51:27 and tied the game ten minute later when senior Zachary Young (Capo Beach, Calif.) picked the pocket of the Bears defender for his first goal of the season.
Bridgewater had the best chance of the overtimes when Gomes split the defense and had a hard low shot that Alex Al-Zaibak (Hingham, Mass.) made a diving play for the stop.
