Burns nets third goal of the season for Fitchburg State
North Adams, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's soccer team dropped a tough 3-1 decision to the Trailblazers of MCLA this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action at Shewcraft Field.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State opened the scoring just 28 seconds into the first half as senior forward Jared Burns (E. Bridgewater, Mass.) took a feed from sophomore Hassan Koroma (Millbury, Mass.) and connected on his third marker of the season for the 1-0 lead.
MCLA knotted the (1-1) in the 34th minute of action when sophomore midfielder Andrew Nygard (Gansevoort, N.Y.) blasted a shot into the back of the net for his first tally of the 2017 campaign.
Following the intermission, the Trailblazers broke the 1-1 stalemate at the 73:40 mark as Nygard collected a pass from senior Romeo Grey (Mashpee, Mass.) and connected on his second marker of the contest to make the score 2-1.
The hosts tacked on an insurance marker with just under four minutes left in the contest when junior midfielder Khail Kareh (Adams, Mass.) found the back of the net for his first score on the season off an assist from Grey, resulting in the 3-1 final.
