Loyd Selected MASCAC Men’s Soccer Rookie Of The Week

Kingston, Mass. native earns first weekly honor of the year

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Alexander Loyd (Kingston, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon notches his first weekly accolade on the season, registering his first collegiate goal with the game-tying marker in a 2-2 double overtime draw with Elms College on Friday afternoon after Loyd converted a penalty kick late in regulation.

The Fitchburg State Men's Soccer team (0-0-1, 0-0-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts the Saints of Emmanuel College for a non-conference matchup, starting at 4:00 PM.
