Loyd Named MASCAC MSOC Player And Rookie Of The Week

Kingston, Mass. native collects fourth and fifth weekly honors of the year

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman forward Alexander Loyd (Kingston, Mass.) was recently selected both Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Soccer Player and Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon earns his fourth and fifth weekly accolades on the season after totaling five points on two goals scored and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold. Posted the game winning marker as well as assist in a 3-2 win over Plymouth State on Tuesday afternoon before adding one goal in a 2-1 triumph against Bridgewater State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Men's Soccer team (7-7-2, 3-2-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as they travel to Rhode Island College for a non-conference tilt, starting at 6:00 PM.
