Salem, Mass. – Fitchburg State men's soccer dropped a 3-0 decision to the Vikings of Salem State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

How It Happened

Brendan Davis put Salem State on top early in the first half after corralling a loose ball just outside the goal area and lining a shot past keeper Collin Robson (North Billerica, Mass.) in the 14th minute. Dylan Senra (Dartmouth, Mass.) made it 2-0 in favor of the Vikings after converting a penalty-kick in the 26th minute.    

Davis added his second of the game and fifth of the year in the 53rd minute, giving Salem State a 3-0 lead.

  • Liam Evans (Marshfield, Mass.), Callahan Wheeler (Warren, Mass.), and Anthony Avalos (Boston, Mass.) had the three shots on goal for the Falcons.
  • Robson made ten saves in the setback for the Green and Gold
  • Matt Hauntsman (Milford, N.H.) made three saves in the win, earning his third shutout of the season
  • Salem State had the edge in shots (20-3) and corners (8-0)
