Ramadan earns first collegiate victory in goal for Green and Gold

Fitchburg, MA – The Fitchburg State University Men's Soccer Team defeated the Panthers of Plymouth State, 1-0 this afternoon in non-conference action from Elliot Field on senior day as the Falcons men's soccer team honored seniors Jorge Alvarez, Francesco Campione and Joshua Atemkeng in a pre-game ceremony prior to the contest.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State grabbed the lead at the 12:53 mark of the first half when sophomore Kaio Fialho (Worcester, MA) collected a feed from senior Jorge Alvarez (Romulus, MI) and deposited a shot into the right side of the net for the 1-0 margin.

Plymouth State's best scoring chance of the half occurred in the 32nd minute of action as sophomore Luca McCarthy (Richmond, VA) put a shot on target, but Falcon keeper Dorian Ramadan (West Boylston, MA) turned the shot aside to preserve the 1-0 advantage going into the break.

Following the intermission, the Panthers nearly knotted the score at the 55:57 mark with McCarthy blasting a shot, but Ramadan denied the shot, resulting in the 1-0 final

• This afternoon's contest marked the sixth meeting between the Panthers and the Falcons on the pitch with Fitchburg State 3-3-0 all-time when taking on Plymouth State
