Kibler Shines At USATF Indoor Championships

Former Falcon registers second place finish

FITCHBURG, Mass. (February 18, 2013) – Former Fitchburg State distance runner Chris Kibler (Bath, Maine/Morse) recently competed at the 2013 USATF New England Indoor Track Championships hosted by Harvard University on Sunday afternoon.

The former Falcon notched a second place finish in the 5000m with a stellar time of 14:44.05, which would have broken the school record by 1.2 seconds. With that mark, Chris qualifies for the 2013 USATF Outdoor Club National Championships. Kibler, currently the middle and distance coach for the Fitchburg State men’s indoor and outdoor track & field teams competes with the Greater Boston Track Club (GBTC).

During his four-year career at Fitchburg State, Kibler etched his name into the Falcon record books, holding several school records, including both the 1500m and 3000m records with times of 3:56.50 and 8:28.97 respectively, while also being a member of the distance relay medley team that holds the school record with a mark of 10:26.19.
