Falcon Duo Earns Pair of MASCAC Weekly Accolades

Conaty named Co-Field Athlete of the Week; Kibler earns Track Athlete of the Week

FITCHBURG, Mass. (January 27, 2014) – Senior Pat Conaty (Southington, Conn.) and graduate student Chris Kibler (Bath, Maine) collected a pair MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track weekly awards this week as announced by the conference office on Sunday evening.

Conaty collects his first weekly honor of the season after being selected MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Co-Field Athlete of the Week. Pat placed third overall in the pole vault with a DIII NE qualifying vault of 4.15 meters for the Falcons at the 2014 Art Farnham Invitational hosted by MIT on Saturday afternoon.

Kibler earns his third weekly accolade of the 2013-14 campaign after being named MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. Chris qualified for four post-season honors in the mile with an Open NE qualifying time of 4:13.24 for Fitchburg State at the 2014 John Thomas Terrier Invitational hosted by Boston University over the weekend. With his time in the event, Chris currently ranks sixth in the nation among all NCAA Division III schools.

The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams return to action on Saturday at they travel to Tufts University for a meet starting at 9:30 a.m.
