Amaral Named MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Rookie Of The Week

Tewksbury, Mass. native earns third consecutive weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (March 3, 2014) – Freshman Brian Amaral (Tewksbury, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Indoor Track Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Sunday evening.

Amaral collects his third straight weekly honor of the season after placing 23rd overall in the 3000 meter with a personal best and ECAC qualifying time of 8:43.59 to pave the way for the Fitchburg State men’s indoor track & field team at the 2014 All-New England Championships hosted by Boston University over the weekend.

The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams return to action this weekend as they compete at the 2014 ECAC Championships hosted by Northeastern University, beginning on Friday afternoon.
