Kibler Claims All-American Honors At NCAA Championships

Bath, Maine native earns All-American Accolades in the mile

FITCHBURG, Mass. (March 15, 2014) – Graduate student Chris Kibler (Bath, Maine) competed at the 2014 Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University on Friday and Saturday.

Kibler entered the NCAA Division III Championships ranked eighth in the nation after registering a stellar effort at the All-New England Championships in late February. Chris set his NCAA qualifying mark in the mile with a new school record time of 4:07.29, placing fifth overall in the event.

At the 2014 NCAA DIII Championships, Kibler collected his first career All-American honor, placing sixth overall in the mile with an outstanding time of 4:10.84 in a closely contested race.

The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams concluded their seasons last weekend as members of the squads competed at the ECAC Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center hosted by Northeastern University.
