Kibler Named MASCAC Men’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week

Bath, Maine native earns third accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (January 20, 2014) – Graduate student Chris Kibler (Bath, Maine) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Track Co-Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office Sunday evening.

Kibler collects his third weekly honor of the season after the men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams competed at the 2014 Tufts Winter Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Kibler placed second overall in the 3000 meter with an ECAC qualifying time of 8:41.6, while also guiding the men’s 4x800 meter relay team to a fourth place finish with a DIII NE qualifying time of 8:30.05. With his time in the 3000 meter, Chris currently ranks 11th in the nation among all NCAA DIII schools

The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams return to action this weekend as they compete at the 2014 John Thomas Terrier Invitational, starting on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
