Amaral Tabbed MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Rookie of the Week

Tewksbury, Mass. native collects second weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (February 24, 2014) –Freshman Brian Amaral (Tewksbury, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Indoor Track Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Sunday evening.

            Amaral collects his second weekly honor of the season after placing ninth overall in the 3000 meter with an ECAC qualifying time of 8:48.60 to pace the Fitchburg State men’s indoor track & field team at the 2014 Division III New England Championships hosted by MIT over the weekend.

            The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams return to action this weekend as they compete at the 2014 Open New England Championships hosted by Boston University, beginning on Friday afternoon.
