Sattiewhite Competes At NCAA DIII Indoor Track National Championships
Salem, Mass. native places tenth overall in the high jump
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman Ben Sattiewhite competed at the 2015 Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., hosted by Roanoke College on Friday and Saturday.
Sattiewhite entered the NCAA Division III Championships ranked eighth in the nation In the high jump after registering a stellar effort at DIII New England Championships in late February. Ben set his NCAA qualifying mark in the high jump with a new school record jump of 2.08 meters, placing second overall in the event.
At the 2015 NCAA DIII Indoor Championships, the first-year Falcon finished tenth overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.99 meters. "It was a great accomplishment, myself and the Fitchburg State men's and women's track & field teams are very proud of him" said Fitchburg State men's track and field head coach Jim Jellison.
The Fitchburg State men's and women's indoor track and field teams concluded their seasons last weekend as members of the squads competed at the ECAC DIII Championships at the Armory in New York City.
