Beatty Named MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete Of The Week
Washington, D.C. native earns first weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Senior Chauncey Beatty was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) men's indoor track athlete of the week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The fourth-year Falcon set a new school record in the 600 meter with an Open New England qualifying time of 1:23.48 to place eighth overall in the event to claim All-New England honors, while also guiding the distance medley relay team to a tenth place time of 10:44.01 at the 2017 DIII New England Championships, hosted by Tufts University on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State men's indoor track team returns to action next weekend as select members compete in the 2016-17 Open New England Indoor Track Championships, hosted by Northeastern University, starting on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
