Beatty Selected ECAC DIII NE Men’s Indoor Track Athlete Of The Week
Washington, D.C. native collects first ECAC weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Chauncey Beatty was recently named Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division IIII New England Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Beatty earns his first ECAC DIII NE weekly honor of the season after setting a new school record in the 600 meter with an Open New England qualifying time of 1:23.48 to place eighth overall in the event to collect All-New England honors at the DIII New England Championships, hosted by Tufts University on Saturday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State men's track & field team returns to action this weekend as select members complete at the 2016-17 Open New England Championships, hosted by Northeastern University, starting on Friday at 2 p.m.
