Amaral Named MASCAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete Of The Week
Tewksbury, Mass. native collects second weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Brian Amaral was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Amaral earns his second weekly accolade on the year after anchoring the Fitchburg State men's indoor distance medley relay team to a seventh place finish with new school record time of 10:20.16. The third-year Falcon also added an eighth place effort in the 3000 meter with a time of 8:35.79 to claim All-New England Honors at the NEICAAA Championships, hosted by Northeastern University on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State men's track & field team returns to action this weekend as select members complete at the 2016-17 ECAC DIII Championships, hosted by Ithaca College, starting on Friday at 2 p.m.
