Falcons Compete At DIII New England Championships

DMR team of Sachetta, Fields, Morales and Sheehy pace Fitchburg State

Springfield, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's indoor track & field team competed at the 2019-20 DIII New England Championships at the Blake Arena, hosted by Springfield College this weekend.

How It Happened

The distance medley relay team of sophomore Nicholas Sachetta (Billerica, Mass.), classmate Trevor Fields (Shirley, Mass.), freshman Chris Morales (Lynn, Mass.) and junior Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, R.I.) led the way for the Green and Gold with a tenth place time of 10:48.12, while newcomer Eric Shimiyimana (Worcester, Mass.) finished 12th in the triple jump with mark of 13.33 meters

In the 60 meter hurdles, freshmen Shaki Auston (Springfield, Mass.) (8.99) and Zion Barber-Amado (Brockton, Mass.) (9.00) finished 19th and 20th respectively, while the 4x800 meter relay team of Sachetta, Sheehy, Fields and newcomer Romeo Fabre (Leominster, Mass.) turned in a solid 15th place time of 8:30.29.

The 4x400 meter relay team of Morales, freshman Conor Dandy (Westminster, Mass.), classmate Nathaniel Felix (Worcester, Mass.) and freshman Edgard Dossantos turned in a time of 3:14.89 with a 16th place finish, while newcomer Beau Bernadeau (North Andover, Mass.) added a 14th place toss of 13.54 meters in the shot put to round out the Falcon efforts on the day.
