Amaral Earns MASCAC Men’s Outdoor Track Rookie Of The Week

Tewksbury, Mass. native collects first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (April 7, 2014) –Freshman Brian Amaral (Tewksbury, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men’s Outdoor Track Rookie of the Week as announced by the league office on Sunday evening.

Amaral collects his first weekly honor of the season after placing second overall in the 10,000 meter with a DIII New England qualifying time of 33:02.30 to pace the Fitchburg State men’s outdoor track & field team at the 2014 UMass Dartmouth Corsairs Classic on Saturday afternoon.

The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams return to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2014 UNH Wildcat Invitational, starting at 11 a.m.
