Fitchburg State Soars At ECAC Championships

McClure leads women with 22nd place effort in the pole vault; Conaty finishes 11th overall in the pole vault to pace men

TROY, N.Y. (May 17, 2014) – The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s outdoor track & field teams were in action on Thursday and Friday afternoon as they competed at the 2014 ECAC Championships hosted by RPI.

On the men’s side, senior Pat Conaty (Southington, Conn.) registered an 11th place showing in the pole vault with a mark of 4.41 meters to round out the top Fitchburg State efforts for the men at the 2014 ECAC Championships.

For the ladies, junior Rebecca McClure (Lyndeborough, N.H.) led the way, placing 22nd overall in the pole vault with a vault of 3.10 meters, while freshman Emilee Felton (Millers Falls, Mass.) was strong in the javelin (23rd) with toss of 31.07m.

Select members of the Fitchburg State men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams await their selection to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
