Fitchburg State Races At All-New England’s

Sattiewhite paces men with ECAC qualifying mark in the high jump; 4x100m relay collects ECAC qualifying time to lead women

Cambridge, Mass. – Members of the Fitchburg State men's and women's outdoor track and field teams were in action this weekend as they competed in the 2015 All-New England Championships hosted by MIT.

For the men, newcomer Ben Sattiewhite led the way, registering an ECAC qualifying mark of 1.94 meters in the high jump with a 13th place effort, while senior Ethan Gorecki led the way, placing 17th overall in the javelin with a toss of 49.23 meters,

Senior Phillip Saint-Juste was also solid in the 110m hurdles, turning in time of 15.88 with a 21st place effort, while the 4x800 meter relay team of senior Jim Quinlan, junior Richard Ethier, IV, sophomore Chauncey Beatty and freshman Jake Hastings collected a 12th place finish with a time of 8:09.48.

On the women's side, the 4x100 meter relay team of seniors Rachel Blanchard, Natasha McInnis and Arthina Robert and newcomer Annie Woolley notched an ECAC qualifying time of 49.88 seconds to place 21st overall to lead the way for the ladies.

Sophomore Morgan Steele was also solid, registering a toss of 40.29 meters in the hammer throw with a 20th place finish, while classmate Emilee Felton posted a 21st place effort in the javelin with throw of 32.61m. to round out the top Falcon efforts for the women's team.

Members of the Fitchburg State men's and women's indoor track and field teams will be in action next weekend as they compete at the 2015 ECAC Championships hosted by Springfield College, starting on Thursday at 4 p.m.
