Amaral Earns MASCAC Track Athlete of the Week Honors

WESTFIELD, Mass. - Fitchburg State junior Brian Amaral (Tewksbury, Mass.) has been named as the Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Track Athlete of the Week for the period ending on May 1, 2016.

Amaral was a dual winner in the 5,000 meter run (15:21.79) and 10,000 meter run (32:07.77) to claim MASCAC titles in both, and the Alliance crown in the 10,000 while setting a personal record at the 2016 MASCAC/New England Alliance Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Amaral and select members of the Falcons' men's outdoor track & field team will be competing in the Division III New England Championships hosted by Springfield College this Saturday.
