Fitchburg State Excels At Regis Spring Classic

Stalters and Sattiewhite take top honors in two events each for Falcons

WESTON, Mass. –The Fitchburg State men's outdoor track and field team returned to action this afternoon, completing in the 2017 Regis Spring Classic at Regis Stadium.

Sophomore Cameron Stalters led the way for the Green and Gold, placing first overall in the javelin with an Open New England qualifying mark of 59.97 meters, while also taking top honors in the 110 meter hurdles with a DIII New England qualifying time of 15.97 seconds.

Senior Ben Sattiewhite was also solid for the Falcons, finishing first overall in the high jump with a DIII NE qualifying height of 1.97 meters as well as placing first in the long jump with post-season qualifying mark of 5.89 meters.

In the 3000 meter, sophomore Anthony Darrigo (9:26.03) and classmate Joseph Darrigo (9:32.42) placed first and second respectively, while senior Eric Custadio finished fourth in the 200m (23.94) and second in the 100m (11.77).

Senior Nicholas Levenson qualified for MASCAC's in the 400m hurdles (61.33) and the 100 meter dash (11.95), placing third and sixth respectively, while also turning in a fourth place effort in the high jump (1.72m).

Sophomore Wilkerson Pierre notched a post-season qualifying mark of 12.23 meters with a first place finish in the triple jump, while newcomer Max Lawless placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 11.09 meters.

Senior Trenton Garlington rounded out the top efforts for Fitchburg State on the afternoon, placing fourth overall in the 100 meter (11.80) and third in the 200 meter (23.64).

The Fitchburg State men's outdoor track team returns to action next weekend as it hosts the 2017 Eric Loeschner Memorial Invitational at Elliot Field on Saturday, April 15th, starting at 10 a.m.
