
Fitchburg State Earns Fifth At Bowdoin Invitational
Kibler earns MASCAC’s top spot with seventh place overall finish
BRUNSWICK, Maine (October 1, 2011) – The Fitchburg State men’s cross country teams visited nationally ranked Bowdoin College this afternoon, participating in the 2011 Bowdoin Invitational.
The Falcons men’s squad earned fifth overall, totaling 117 points on the slick and muddy course. Senior Chris Kibler (Bath, Maine/Morse) was the top MASCAC runner on the afternoon, finishing seventh in the heat with a time of 26:10.95.
Freshman Brandon Davis (Fitchburg, Mass./Fitchburg) also ran a strong race for the Falcons, earning 29th with a time of 28:04, while rookie Damion Perry (Westport, Mass./Diman Regional) followed in 42nd place at a time of 28:41. Junior Mike Grasela (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) was also solid for Fitchburg State, turning in a 34th place effort at 28:20, while freshman Eric Ouellette (Ashburnham, Mass./Oakmont) came in 52nd (29:15). Junior Will Lary (Winchendon, Mass./Oakmont) completed the Falcons top six with a time of 29:58 (58th).
The Fitchburg State men’s and women’s cross country teams will be back in action next weekend as they travel to the All-New England’s at Franklin Park.
