
Falcons Take Home First Place At Trinity
Amaral and Hastings lead Falcons at the Trinity Bantam Invitational
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State men's cross country team was in action this afternoon, placing first overall at the 2016 Trinity Bantam Invitational with a total of 39 points.
Junior Brian Amaral continued his strong start to the season, placing second overall with a time of 16:24.2 over the 5K layout, while classmate Jake Hastings turned in a time of 17:04.2 with fourth place finish.
Up next for the Green and Gold was sophomore Anthony Darrigo in ninth place with a solid time of 17:39.4, while classmate Joseph Darrigo entered the chute in tenth place, registering a time of 17:44.8.
Senior Matthew Cuomo notched a time of 17:58.1 with a 14th place effort, while classmate Michael Martin (18:43.41) and junior Mark Tonelli (19:23.0) rounded out the Falcons top performances on the afternoon.
The Fitchburg State men's cross country team returns to action next Saturday as it completes in the 2016 Corsairs Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth for a meet starting at 11 a.m.
