Hastings Collects ECAC DIII NE and MASCAC Runner of the Week Honors
Phillipston, Mass. native earns second weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Jake Hastings both Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England and Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week as announced by the conference offices earlier this week.
Hastings placed first overall at the 2016 MASCAC Men's Cross Country Championships with a time of 26:08 over the 8K layout to earn MASCAC Runner of the Year honors as the top individual finisher to lead the Fitchburg State men's cross country team to a second place finish at the Doyle Conservation Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State men's cross country team return to action in two weeks as select members will complete in the 2016 NCAA DIII Regional Championships, hosted by Westfield State University on Saturday, November 12th at 10:30 a.m.
