Leominster, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team hosted its annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Alumni Invitational at the Doyle Conservation Center this morning, earning first place with a total of 39 points.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State junior Anthony Darrigo (Tewksbury, Mass./Tewskbury) took home top honors for the Falcons with a first place time of 27:14.59 over the 8k layout, while senior Jake Hastings (Phillipston, Mass./Monty Tech) finished third overall with a time of 27:30.22.
Newcomer Jacob Movsessian (New Ipswich, N.H./Mascenic) was next to enter the chute for the Green and Gold, placing tenth with a time of 28:24.96, while senior Mark Tonelli (Ayer, Mass./Ayer-Shirley) finished in the 13th slot, posting a time of 29:11.71, Rounding out the top seven finishers for the Falcons were newcomer Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, Mass./South Kingstown) (29:15.11), junior Stephen McCall (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) (29:53.94), and sophomore Brandon DiGregorio (Somerville, Mass./Nashua North) (30:36.37).
