Falcons Open 2019 Season At Keene State

Movsessian paces Falcons with second place time of 16:15.2

Keene, N.H. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team opened their 2019 season on Saturday, placing second overall at the 2019 Keene State College Early Bird Invitational with a total of 62 points.

Place: 2nd – 62 Points

How It Happened

Fitchburg State was led by junior Jacob Movsessian (New Ipswich, N.H.), who placed second overall with a time of 16:15.2 over the 5K layout, while classmate Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, R.I.) followed in sixth place with a time of 16:24.8.

Freshman Brian O'Sullivan (Templeton, Mass.) was next into the chute, finishing 15th overall with a time of 16:38.5, while newcomer Samuel Flint (Methuen, Mass.) notched a time of 16:52.2 after placing 17th. Rounding out the top seven efforts for the Green and Gold were freshman Matthew Catarius (Shrewsbury, Mass.) (17:35.9), sophomore Trevor Fields (Shirley, Mass.) (17:38.0) and newcomer Cameron Davis (Gardner, Mass.) (18:04.1), placing 29th, 30th and 47th respectively.

Inside the Numbers

Fitchburg State did not run at last year's Keene State Early Bird Invitational.  

Springfield won the 2019 Keene State Early Bird Invitational with a total of 60 points.

Sophomore Matyas Csiki-Fejer (Manchester, Mo.) of Suffolk University placed first overall at the 2019 Keene State Early Bird Invitational with a time of 15:49.2.
