Falcons Soar At NCAA DIII New England Championships

Movsessian leads the way with 71st place time of 26:20.6

Brunswick, Maine. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team placed 24th overall (out of 54 teams) at the 2019 NCAA Division III NE Cross Country Championships on Saturday afternoon with a total of 750 points, hosted by Bowdoin College.

How It Happened

Junior Jacob Movsessian (New Ipswich, N.H.) led the way for Fitchburg State with a 71st place time of 26:20.6, while fellow junior Joe Weston (Middleton, Mass.) added a time of 27:34.5 over the 8K layout.

Junior Timothy Sheehy (Wakefield, R.I.) followed into the chute with a time of 27:43.2, while newcomer Samuel Flint (Methuen, Mass.) crossed the finish line at 28:08.6. Rounding out the top seven efforts on the day for the Green and Gold were sophomore Nicholas Sachetta (Billerica, Mass.), freshman Matthew Catarius (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and classmate Brian O'Sullivan (Templeton, Mass.) with times of 28:20.4, 28:25.6 and 28:53.6 respectively.
