Westfield, MA - The Fitchburg State University men's cross country team placed eleventh overall at the 2021 James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University this afternoon.

How It Happened

Fitchburg State University was led by senior Brian O'Sullivan (Templeton, Mass.), running in his first race of 2021, who placed 36th overall with a pace of 27:30.67, while classmate Trevor Fields (Shirley, Mass.) followed with a time of 28.06.44, over the 8K course.

Junior Samuel Flint (Methuen, Mass.) finished 60th overall for the Green and Gold with a time of 28:32.19 and junior Matthew Catarius (Shrewsbury, Mass.) crossed the chute at 28:57.28.

Senior Nicholas Sachetta (Billerica, Mass.) and newcomer Aidan Cattelan (West Hartford, Conn.) rounded out the top finishers for the Falcons with times of 29:04.20 and 29:25.03 respectively.

  • Vassar captured the 2021 James Earley Invitational with 34 points
  • Trevor Martin from Trinity (Conn.) placed first with a time of 25:11.33
