Cyrus Tabbed MASCAC Softball Player of the Week

Everett, Mass. native collects first accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. (April 16, 2013) – Freshman Tori Cyrus (Everett, Mass./Everett) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday morning.

Cyrus collects her first weekly honor of the season after leading the Fitchburg State softball team to 5-1 week. The first year Falcon batted a sizzling .556 (10-for-18) with a pair of doubles, five runs scored and nine RBI including a 2-for-4 performance with two RBI in Fitchburg State’s 5-3 setback to Regis College in the night cap of a double header on Thursday evening before collecting four hits, four runs scored and five RBI in the Falcons twin bill sweep over MASCAC rival Mass. Maritime Academy on Sunday afternoon.

The Fitchburg State softball team returns to action on Wednesday at it visits the Engineers of WPI for a double header starting at 3 p.m. (Game will be played at Fitchburg State with  WPI as the home team)
