Colvin Earns MASCAC Softball Pitcher Of The Week Accolades

Lancaster, Mass. native picks up first weekly honor of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State sophomore pitcher Taylor Colvin (Lancaster, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The second-year hurler collects her second weekly accolade on the year after posting an ERA of 1.84, going 2-0 with four strikeouts over 8.1 innings pitched. Colvin allowed just one run one four hits with four K's over five innings of work in a 9-1, game triumph over Plymouth State on Thursday before picking up her second win on the week after giving up one hit in 3.1 innings of relief in a 2-1, game two victory against MCLA on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State softball team (16-8, 4-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts the Lancers of Worcester State on Wednesday for a MASCAC twin bill, starting at 3:00 PM.
