Grass Selected MASCAC Softball Player Of The Week

Rockland, Mass. native collects first weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman infielder Molly Grass (Rockland, Mass.) was tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Softball Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

The first-year Falcon batted .433 (13-of-30) with two doubles, two triples, ten runs scored, four walks and six RBI in a 6-4 week for Fitchburg State.

Molly went a combined 2-for-7 with two triples, four runs scored and one RBI in wins over Medaille College (8-4) and Penn State Harrisburg (9-7) on Sunday before finishing 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored, a double and one RBI in a 17-5 triumph over Albertus Magnus.

Grass concluded the week hitting 2-for-4 with a double, one run scored and an RBI in a setback to Franciscan University on Friday evening as the Green and Gold wrapped up its spring break trip at the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic.

The Fitchburg State softball team concluded its annual spring trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. with an overall record of 6-4 this past week.
