Fitchburg State Defeated by Rams in Conference Play

Falcons drop MASCAC tilt despite Enright tying a game-high with 17 points

.- Framingham State University defeated Fitchburg State University, 86-57 in (Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action Saturday afternoon.            

The Rams are now 9-3 and the Falcons are 8-4, both teams are 1-1 in league play.

Trailing by 12 (45-33) at halftime, the Falcons cut the deficit to 10 on a jump shot by Megan Wodzinski to start off the second half. The Rams proceeded to hold Fitchburg State to just 24 second half points, while adding 41 of their own in the conference win.

The hosts would extend their lead in the closing stanza to as much as 32 at the 6:55 mark on a jumper by Casie Thurber.

Falcons senior Kristen Enright scored a team-high 17 points and collected eight rebounds. Classmates Rebecca Fluet and Laura Cote picked up 13 and 14 points, respectively in the losing effort.

Senior Johanna Annunziata was 6-for-9 from the field including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc finishing with 17 points and seven assists. Sophomore Alycia Rackliffe scored 17 points, and finished with a game-high nine rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Sophomore Sarah Palace added 16 points while senior Nicole Bostic registered 13.

The Rams shot 55 percent from the field including hitting 8-of-18 (44%) from long range. The Falcons were just 23-of-77 and 3-of-15 from downtown. 

The Rams will travel to Bridgewater State for a MASCAC matchup on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Fitchburg will host MCLA on the same day and time.
