Rose Garners Pair of ECAC DIII NE Women’s Basketball Honors

Rockland, Mass. native earns third ECAC DIII NE weekly honor of the year

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Freshman guard Kyra Rose was recently selected Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) DIII New England Women's Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.

Rose collects her third ECAC Division III NE weekly accolade of the season after averaging 14.7 points, 8.7 boards, 3.7 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game in three contests for the Green and Gold this past week.

Kyra collected a game-best 14 points, eight boards, five assists and three steals in a 67-27 win over Green Mountain on Monday before chipping in with seven points, eight caroms, two assists and a block in a 62-38 setback to MCLA on Wednesday.

The first-year Falcon concluded the week, registering a double-double of 23 points and ten rebounds as well as four assists, four steals and three blocks in a 78-61 triumph against Salem State on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State women's basketball team (8-8, 1-4 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it travels to Framingham State University to take on the Rams for a contest starting at 8 p.m.
