Women's Hoops Finish 6th with Loss to Rams

FRAMINGHAM, MA: Fitchburg State women's basketball will be the 6th seed going into the MASCAC postseason after today's loss to the Rams of Framingham State.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/17/24

- Score: Framingham 89, Fitchburg 54

- Records: Framingham (22-2, 11-1 MASCAC), Fitchburg (5-20, 2-10 MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Flannery O'Connor led the way for the Rams with 20 points and six boards. Kelsey Yelle also put up big numbers with 16 points and six rebounds. Gabriella Redford closed out the top performers from the bench, as she contributed 12 points.  

- The Falcons were paced by Olivia Almeida (Wilmington, MA), who scored 12 points while coming off the bench. Stephanie Hart (Shirley, MA) topped the Falcons in rebounds with seven.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shooting: The Rams shot 46.1% from the floor, 33.3% from three, 66.7% from the line. Fitchburg shot 29.3% from the floor, 26.9% from three, and 56.5% from the line.

-  Rebounds: Framingham 57, Fitchburg 31

-  Assists: Framingham 22, Fitchburg 10
