Women's Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Team Academic Award

Falcons finish 2014-15 academic year with a 3.05 team GPA

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team was recently honored by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), earning the IWLCA Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.

A total of 261 women's lacrosse teams posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the IWLCA Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year. Under head coach, Rick Terrio, Fitchburg State recorded a cumulative 3.06 Team GPA, earning the third IWLCA team academic honor in Fitchburg State women's lacrosse history.

Members of the 2014-15 team include: Jaimee Lutz, Samantha Bontempo, Corinne DeSimone, Jessica Sullivan, Carrie Long, Nicole Patterson, Shannon Housser, Maria Giacoletto, Kayla Panek, Maddie Driscoll, Andrea Comeau, Amanda Gage, Brianna Dunn, Molly Barbarotta, Ali Laferriere, Lia Crutchfield, Alexa Sterner, Elizabeth Darrigo, Lindsey White and Leslie Jaffie.

This season, the Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team concluded the 2015 campaign with an overall record of 14-4 and a 5-2 mark in the MASCAC, while setting a new program record for most wins in season.
