Laferriere Selected MASCAC Player Of The Week
Tyngsboro, Mass. native earns first weekly honor of the season
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Junior attacker Ali Laferriere was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Laferriere collects her first weekly accolade of the 2016 campaign after totaling eight points on six goals and two helpers as well as four ground balls and five draw controls in a 2-0 week for the Green and Gold.
Ali registered five points on four markers and one assists with four ground balls in a 10-7 win over UMass Dartmouth on Thursday evening before posting three points on two scores and one helper as well as five draw controls in a 7-6 overtime victory over MASCAC rival Westfield State on Saturday.
The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team (7-4, 1-1 MASCAC) returns to action on Wednesday as it hosts the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College in a non-conference match-up, starting at 5 p.m.
