Long Selected To All-ECAC DIII NE First Team
Foxboro, Mass. native collects second post-season accolade
FITCHBURG, Mass. – Sophomore defender Carrie Long was recently named to the 2016 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) All-ECAC DIII New England First Team as announced by the conference office earlier this week.
Long helped anchor the Falcons defense this past season, posting 12 points on ten markers and two helpers, while also leading the team in ground balls (74), draw controls (89) and caused turnovers (47). In addition to this honor, Carrie was also named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference First Team.
The Fitchburg State Women's Lacrosse Team recently concluded the 2016 campaign with an overall record of 14-5 and 6-1 mark in the MASCAC, en-route to earning the third seed in the MASCAC women's lacrosse post-season tournament as well as clinching a share of its first ever MASCAC regular-season title.
