Kozikowski Named MASCAC Women’s Lacrosse Rookie Of The Week

Portsmouth, N.H. native receives first weekly accolade of the season

FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman attack Eva Kozikowski (Portsmouth, N.H.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.

The first-year Falcon earns her first weekly honor after finishing the week with 14 points on eight goals and six assists as well as five ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 2-1 week for the Falcons.

Eva netted her first two collegiate tallies in addition to two helpers, one ground ball and two caused turnovers in a 20-8 setback to Regis on Thursday before adding three goals, one assist, one ground ball and one caused turnover in a 14-7 triumph against Sage on Saturday.

Kozikowski concluded the week, registering three goals, three assists and three ground balls for the Green and Gold in a 19-14 victory against Castleton on Sunday.

The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team (3-1, 0-0 MASCAC) returns to action next Monday as they travel to Colby-Sawyer to take on the Chargers for a non-conference tilt, starting at 4:00 PM.
