Falcons Selected 6th in MASCAC Pre-Season Poll

Falcons notch 12 points in 2021 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Coaches Poll

FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team was recently picked sixth overall in the 2021 MASCAC Women's Lacrosse Pre-Season Poll as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

Westfield State University was selected to win the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse championship in a vote of the league's coaches. The Owls collected five first place votes for a total of 35 points.

Framingham State followed in second with a total of 31 points, including the remaining two first place ballots. Bridgewater State and Worcester State tied for third in the poll, with each team registering 24 points. 

Sitting in fifth was Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a total of 15 points, while the Falcons of Fitchburg State were picked sixth after amassing 12 points. Salem State rounded out this year's poll with 6 points..

The Falcons' season opener will be at Elliot Field on Saturday, March 27th when they host the Vikings of Salem State in a conference match-up, first draw is at 11:00 am.
