Falcons Fall to Rams in MASCAC Action

 

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse dropped an 18-5 decision to the Rams of Framingham State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action on Saturday evening.

How It Happened

Framingham State took a commanding 7-0 lead after one quarter. The Rams received a pair of goals from sophomore Molly Lanier (Tyngsboro, Mass.), junior Madison Skiff (Granby, Conn.), and junior Hannah Guerin (Cumberland, RI).

Trailing 9-0 the Falcons tipped the twine when sophomore Abaigeal Gilman (Clinton, Mass.) found senior Eva Kozikowski (Portsmouth, NH) open in front of the net. Framingham State closed out the frame with goals from sophomore Julianna Guzi (New Fairfield, Conn.) and junior Rachel Erickson (Dunstable, Mass.) to hold an 11-1 lead at intermission.

Sophomore Cali Laakso (Fitchburg, Mass.) notched her tenth goal of the season for the Falcons to open the third quarter. However, Framingham State upped its lead (14-2) with three unanswered goals.

Fitchburg State added back-to-back scores from newcomer Jessica St. George (Dracut, Mass.) and Gilman to cut the deficit to 15-4. Kozikowski scored her 12th goal of the year resulting in the 18-5 final.
