THE BASICS:

- Score: Fitchburg 16, Suffolk 11
- Records: Fitchburg (1-6), Suffolk (3-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams got the scoring started and outscored the Falcons through the first half. The Rams held a 5-3 advantage after the first quarter, which saw the first highlighted by Ally Colburn, who scored two goals for Suffolk. Fitchburg saw three different players score in the first, starting with Delaney Ponder (Bridgewater, MA) at 13:30, followed by Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA), who scored at 8:23, and Hannah Azzari (Haverhill, MA) at 3:30.
- The second quarter was evenly matched, with the Falcons and Rams scoring five goals. Fitchburg would go on a six unanswered goal run between Azzari closing out the first and five straight to start the second. Ponder found the back of the net twice in that stretch, getting her hat trick. Kiley McFadden (Tewksbury, MA), Samantha Azzari (Haverhill, MA), and H. Azzari scored the remaining three goals.
- The Rams would respond with their own five-goal run to end the half. Colburn would add on another two goals, putting her at five for the day. Jessie Le scored two, with Julia Dickinson closing out the half with the other.
- After being down 10-8 at the break, the Falcons would tie the game up with two quick goals by Tibbetts at the start of the third quarter, bringing it even at 10-10. Zoe Peckham would end the Falcon run with her second goal of the game, giving the lead back to the Rams with 11:53 left in the third. S. Azzari would find the back of the net again for her second goal of the game to tie it back up at 11-11. Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA) would score her first and only goal of the game, but it would be the most important as it was the game-winner.
- The fourth quarter was all Falcons, as they would add on another four goals, getting the final of 16-11. Breanna White (Peabody, MA) scored the first two of the quarter, making it 14-11. McFadden and S. Azzari would score the next two to close out the game.
