Bio

Bina van Toorn is in her third season as an assistant coach for the Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team.
 
Bina started playing lacrosse in her native Germany and quickly began coaching and officiating the game as well. While playing for the Hamburg Warriors she competed in the final four of the National Championship three times. During her exchange year at Smith College, Bina was a two-sport athlete playing lacrosse and swimming for the Pioneers. She graduated from Smith College with a Diploma in American Studies as well as earning a Master’s in Exercise Science and Sport Studies in 2016.
 
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching English and Physical Education from the University of Hamburg, Germany. She also has international coaching experience, coaching her club's youth teams in Hamburg, Germany as well as a women's team in Zurich, Switzerland.
 
Bina is a Level 3 certified coach and an L2 umpire with US Lacrosse. She also teaches Physical Education on the middle school level and coaches the Oakmont Regional High School Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Team.
