Flynn clinched Fitchburg State's first MASCAC victory and ended a 12-game winless streak against the Bears with her first goal of the season. The sophomore midfielder found herself one-on-one with Bridgewater State goalkeeper Kayla Glover (Haverhill, Mass./Haverhill), collected her own rebound and blasted a shot to the back of the goal from 10 yards out.

After a scoreless first half, the Falcons opened the second frame with constant pressure as freshman Olivia Schnorf (Springfield, Mass./Sabis International) and senior Courtney Kimball (Plymouth, Mass./Plymouth North) notched shots on target. Glover kept the Bears in the contest with two clutch saves, including a diving save off senior Megan Belanger's (Belchertown, Mass./Belchertown) corner kick.

Bridgewater State continued to find ways through the Fitchburg State defense, posting 12 shots in the second half. Sophomore Amber LaPorte (New Hartford, Conn./Northwestern) had a chance to put the Bears on the board late in the second frame as she find herself alone with goalkeeper Emily Swan (Franklin, Mass./Franklin), but Swan stonewalled LaPorte's shot to keep the Falcons' one goal edge.
