Falcons Collect Three All-Conference Honors

Jamieson, Kirouac and Walker selected to the MASCAC All-Conference Second Team

FITCHBURG, Mass. (November 6, 2013) – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team named three players to the 2013 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference Team as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.

Senior Rachel Jamieson (Foxboro, Mass.) collected her fourth All-Conference nomination with a MASCAC All-Conference second team honor, while classmate Jillian Kirouac (Leominster, Mass.) notched her third All-Conference selection with a second team honor. Sophomore back Jacqueline Walker (Derry, N.H.) joined Jamieson and Kirouac on the MASCAC All-Conference second team, picking up her second MASCAC All-Conference accolade.

On the season, Jamieson continued her solid play, finishing tied for first on the squad with 12 points on five markers and two helpers in 15 appearances for the Falcons. She registered three goals for six points over the course of seven conference games, including the game-winning tally in Fitchburg State's 1-0 victory over Salem State.

During the 2013 campaign, Kirouac collected a career-best 119 saves in 1607 minutes of action between the pipes, while posting a 1.79 goals against average and a .788 save percentage in 18 starts for the Falcons. Within the conference, Jillian registered 60 saves with a .822 save percentage to go along with a minimal 1.84 goals against average in seven conference matches,

Throughout the season, Walker anchored the Fitchburg State defensive line, holding opponents to a minimal 1.80 goals against average over 18 contests. The sophomore defender also added to the offensive mix, totaling two assists, including one helper in the Falcons 2-0 win against Mass. Maritime Academy.

The Fitchburg State women's soccer team recently concluded its 2013 season with an overall record of 6-12-0 and a 2-5-0 clip in the MASCAC.
