Falcons Earn NSCAA Silver Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award

Women's Soccer Team garners NSCAA accolade

FITCHBURG, Mass.The Fitchburg State Women's Soccer team was recently recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for their outstanding sportsmanship on the field, receiving the NSCAA Silver Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award by recording five or fewer yellow and zero red cards throughout the season.

Also receiving the Silver Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award was fellow Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) rival Massachusetts Maritime Academy, while the Trailblazers of MCLA earned the Bronze Award.

In all, 125 teams received either the Gold, Silver or Bronze version of the College Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award, which recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the laws of the game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season.
