Zina Collects MASCAC All-Conference Honors
Abington, Mass. native named to the All-Conference second team
FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team earned All-Conference honors earlier today as sophomore back Samantha Zina was named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Conference second team as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
The second-year Falcon earned her first all-conference selection after posting five points on two markers and one assist, while starting all 18 contest for the Green and Gold from the back line this season.
In addition to being selected to the All-Conference second team, Zina was also named to the inaugural MASCAC women's soccer sportsmanship team with each squad represented by a student-athlete that has embodied good sportsmanship on and off the field.
The Fitchburg State women's soccer team recently concluded its 2014 season with an overall record of 3-14-1 and a 0-6-1 clip in the MASCAC.
