Mansfield, Conn.. – Two first half goals by the Warriors propelled Eastern Connecticut State University past the Fitchburg State Falcons 5-0 in non-conference women's soccer action this evening at Rick McCarthy Field

How It Happened

Eastern Connecticut notched a pair of first half goals for a 2-0 advantage at intermission. Junior Grace Muller (Johnston, RI) collected a pass from Dani Rovalino (Simsbury, Conn.) in the 6th minute for her first goal of the season. First year Hailey Cocca (Stratford, Conn.) potted a goal in the 30h minute to double the Warriors lead.

A hat trick by senior Haley Montesanto (East Haven, Conn.) in the second half led to the 5-0 final.

Inside the Numbers

  • ECSU held the advantage in shots (25-2) and corner kicks (1-0)
  • FSU freshman Abaigeal Gilman (Clinton, Mass.)  made six saves in the second half for the Falcons
  • Sophomore Abbey Quirbach (Lowell, Mass.) had the lone shot for the Green and Gold
