Women's Soccer Edged By Owls In Conference Action
Vaudo and Dawkins combine for five saves
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to the Owls of Westfield State in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this evening from Elliot Field.

How It Happened
Westfield State opened the scoring at the 13:54 mark when junior Jaida Cochran (Middleboro, MA) collected a feed from senior Erin White (Plympton, MA) and deposited a shot inside the near post for her third goal on the season for the 1-0 edge.
Fitchburg State threatened in the 18th minute of action as senior Ashley Porter (Upton, MA) blasted a shot that rang off the cross bar.
Following the intermission, the Green and Gold's best scoring chance of the second half occurred in the 59th minute of play with newcomer Noelle Kennedy (Walpole, MA) fired a shot only to have Owls goaltender Julia Robak (Chicopee, MA) make the stop.
Westfield State secured the victory at the 82:45 mark as freshman Kiana Muratsuka (Mililiani, HI) found the back of the net for her tenth score of the 2023 campaign with assists from junior Delaney Parker (Orange, MA) and sophomore Tori Dodge (North Canaan, CT), resulting in the 2-0 final.
