Bridgewater, Mass. – The fifth seeded Falcons of Fitchburg State dropped a 2-0 decision to the top seeded Bears of Bridgewater State this evening in semifinal round action of the 2023 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action of the Women's Soccer post-season tournament from Mazzaferro Field.

How It Happened

Bridgewater State broke a 0-0 stalemate in the 26th minute of play as senior Audra McDuffie (Millbury, MA) converted a penalty kick for her fourth goal on the season to make the score 1-0 going into the break.

Following the intermission, the Bears doubled the lead to 2-0 at the 69:18 mark with sophomore Olivia Robarge (Pepperell, MA) finding the back of the net for her sixth tally on the year. Fitchburg State threatened in the 74th minute of action when junior Kendra Peretzman (Randolph, MA) putting a shot on frame, but Bridgewater State keeper Logan Levesque (Bristol, RI) made the save, resulting in the 2-0 final.
